|We awoke to more cool weather and a cloudy sky today. It would have been easy to just stay indoors and enjoy another “do-nothing” day. We had decided yesterday that we would not have two consecutive down days, so today would be “game day”.
After our morning coffee, Marilyn & I walked around talking to our friends here. We suggested that we get together this afternoon, at one of the card rooms in the library building. We could bring snacks and something to drink, then enjoy playing games all afternoon.
Marilyn & I both took showers and dressed in comfortable casual clothing. She took Ritz crackers and a cheddar, port wine cheese ball. Everyone brought good food and we had plenty of delicious snacks to eat.
Heinz & Irene have a game called “Catch Phrase” so we played that game, with the men against the women. It was a lot of fun and our laughter filled the room. The gals eked out a win in the first game but the men won the next two games, giving us the edge.
We then played “Balderdash” and had another great time. I think Jerry and Irene tied for the win in Balderdash, along with one other person. Not me! I forget who the third person was, but no one seemed to care much who won. We were just having a good time.
The snacks were great! The games were fun, and the company was outstanding! What a fun way to enjoy a day when the weather was too cool and windy to be outdoors.
We are so happy to be here at a resort where they have rooms for the Rvers to use like that. We have such a wonderful group of friends who all have so much fun together. Good natured ribbing and lots of laughter seemed to be the order of the day.
We had a super day!
Just in case our friends, Gilbert & Louise, wonder if they were there today, I have to explain that the “Gilbert & Louise” dolls stayed home to cuddle today, and didn’t get out in the cold. The only regret that I have about today is that we forgot to take the camera with us, so I have no pictures to show you.
Now we are back in our warm and cozy little house on wheels.
Marilyn cooked ham and beans today and we heated them up for dinner. She baked some cornbread to go with the ham & beans. We used to eat this dish often when we were kids and I still consider it one of my favorites.
Tonight we will watch some TV and get a good night of sleep. Christmas is nearly upon us and it will soon be time to turn our thoughts to the reason for celebrating this joyous season.
Now we just can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow has in store…..
