South Africa – Cape Town 19 - 21st September
Cape Town was the end of my ‘In Style’ tour and the start of my 41 day camping adventure. Unfortunately, after living on a South African diet of meat and more meat (even their snack food ‘biltong’ is dried meat!) I decided to opt for the Cesar’s Salad, it was a posh hotel after all! It turned out to be a huge mistake – school boy error.
I was reluctant to go cage diving with Great White Sharks the following morning as the thought of being in a cage, wearing a wet suit with one of the most feared animals on earth (not too far away) might have rendered the Imodium ineffective.
The usual tourist attractions were checked off – the rotating cable car up to the top of Table Mountain with spectacular views of Robin Island, Lions Mount and Devils Peak (until it snowed!); a trip to Boulders Bay to see the African Penguins and colonies of birds on Noah’s rock; the meeting of the two Oceans (Atlantic and Indian) at Cape Point (also the Cape of Good Hope and Dias Point).
