Carl and Pierre after a hard day at the ranch

The family made us feel so welcome

OH what a beautiful place Mary Lynn and Carl have, but it is in the middle of nowhere, or to be more exact...........between Tipton(or Tilton?) and Moultrie, Georgia. It seems to be a good place to raise kids and dogs and cattle!

We were met by 6 or more big yard dogs when we pulled in, scared little Spencer and Benji to death. They were afraid of becoming 'lunch' snack. But once they got used to us and our dogs, things were pretty uneventful.........but Spencer, try as he might, could not cover up all the foreign pee spots...he finally just went dry and slunk away in defeat.

The kids are some of the best mannered, sweetest kids I have seen lately. We really enjoyed our stay.

Clinton hung out with Carl and rode out to the pastures to take wagons of 'cotton gin trash' to the cattle, seems they like to eat the stuff! Mary Lynn and I knew something must be wrong when at dusk we saw Carl walking across the field to the shed and take off with the backhoe. The men finally returned from the pasture after dark.....the truck AND the wagon of feed got stuck in the cow muck/mud combo...then the tractor got stuck to its axles....They barely got out of the muck by dark and everyone smelled like fresh manure. Carl's dog, Pierre jumped out of the truck into the muck, jumped back in and tried to sit in Clinton's lap. Clinton balked, so Pierre sat in Carl's seat to sweeten it up for him!!

Oh, the life of a rancher, the excitement never ends. Carl is going to round up some calfs for market tomorrow. And we will be on the road to Pensacola to see our babies finally!!!
