We love you too!

Today was a wonderful day. The weather was nearly perfect and our plans for the day included many of our friends.

Marilyn & I began our day in the usual manner, by sharing a pot of coffee while listening to music and talking about the blessings in our life.

We did some chores and straightened up the RV, before getting ourselves ready for church.

Around 9:45 AM, we walked across the street to speak with Heinz & Irene. Kit & Jerry came out and we all greeted one another with hugs. We were all going to Mass together at the Basilica, where the music is provided by a Mariachi band. Marilyn & I rode with Kit & Jerry, while Heinz & Irene drove their truck. Our friends, Jim & Linda, were joining us by meeting us at the Basilica. We saw Jim & Linda’s truck as soon as we drove into the parking lot.

The Basilica is a very spiritual place and the music was wonderful, which added to the heartfelt peace and joy of the Mass.

Everyone seemed to enjoy the service and it was made more special for Marilyn & I, by sharing it with our friends, none of whom are Catholic.

After we left the church, we drove to Mission, Texas, to a fine restaurant called B.J.’s.

We met Ted & Sue at the restaurant and a table was soon prepared for all ten of us.

The food was wonderful, delicious, and filling, while the conversation and the laughter was spirited and constant.

Once the meal ended, we drove to a new HEB Plus store. Although we didn’t need anything we did manage to find a few items we simply could not live without. It looks like we will be having a beef roast in the next couple of days. :)

Back home at our RV, we changed into more casual clothing and went back outside to sit in lawn chairs to read.

Gordon & Juanita stopped over for a few minutes. Irene stopped over to show us the stuffed toys she bought to represent two friends, Gilbert & Louise, who cannot be here in the valley with us this winter. We will take these figures with us on our travel adventures, so that Gilbert & Louise can be with us in spirit, anyway.

Jerry & Kit brought some chairs and joined us and then Carl & Linda walked over to join in the conversation. We sat outdoors together talking away until the evening air began to cool things off a bit much.

I should note that during the morning we spoke with Jesse & Ginger, who are now in San Antonio. Later in the day we spoke with Jennifer & Steve, who called from the Bahamas, and right after we finished speaking with the kids, we had a call from Jenny J. It was so nice to hear from all of these special people.

Now we have settled in to watch some TV.

Thus comes to an end, an absolutely wonderful day, and we just can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow has in store…..
