Well the rough weather continued into the night and next day. Apparently we almost did not stop at the Caymens. We did however have to stop at Spotts bay

rather than georgtown on Grand Caymen, as the seas were to rough of the other side of the island. We arrived later too and had to get to the Island by boat ( one at a time). This all took time as there were 3 cruise ships in at once. Carnival and Ruby Princess ( no where as good as ours). We again had no tour booked at with all these people trying to get a taxi into gorge town. We saw one lady who would take us to a number of places in her taxi for $25 a head. Only the our of us had come ashore but when we got there we saw Hoes so they joined us for the taxi tour. The taxi driver was Ursula Smith born in 1938 and she was a card, not to be crossed I think. She was native to the island and disliked Jamaicans. She told us all about the history of the Caymens, really interesting. It is a British colony so all the systems are the same as Australia. Population is 56 000 on grand Caymen, 1900 on Caymen Brac and 200 on little caymen.
First she drove us to the opposite end of the island, 22 miles long. We went to 7 mile beach, the governers house and then to the turtle farm.

 Turtle Farm |   |
I warn my friend Nicky not to read anything about the turtle farm. Yes the farm is for turtle meat as it is one of the main meat sources for the people here. I was ok when I saw the large turtles they were so huge (3-500 pounds) we could feed them . (i did not know at this stage we were fattening them up). Then we saw the different pools with all the turtle sized. Guides would pick up the babies for people to hold, this is the point at which I left. All the kids apparently held them

and heard all about what happened to them but well I was outside wallowing in disbelief. I know people will say but Jules you eat meat ( I KNOW!! I DISGUST MYSELF BUT BUT I DO NOT EAT TUTRTLE!) .
So back in the taxi with Ursula she informed us that she worked for the turtle farm for 13 years and she can’t eat them.
Just around the corner we went to the rum house for tastings of cake and rum. Very nice indeed ( pete informed me). Ursulla then took us to Hell,

 Hell |   |
yes Hell. It this place named Hell because the rocks there were so hard and dangerous

they must be from Hell. Very funny place. There is a post office there and yes we did get a post card stamped from Hell. Pretty Funny Hudson got this t shirt that says I would rather go to Hell than go to school. Its a classic.
Ursula was so funny she talked about how the ‘old people’ still grow their own stuff and the younger generation (like me) go to the shops to buy their food. She knew everything about it all, loved her. Well from hell we went into the town area and went shopping at Del Sol the colour change place. Everything here reacts to the sun and changes colour. Lots of fun here.
By this time I was feeling really ordinary as the rocking of the boat for the last 24 hours had given me motion sickness so when I was on land I was wobbly and woozy, I needed to get back to the boat. So Pooleys returned back to the boat by 1pm.
This was great as soon as the swaying of the boat was there I felt so much better. Deb said I had to have tablets to go to Mexico tomorrow otherwise I may be sick again. So of to Lunch. This was the first lunch we had on the boat at the main cafe, unbelievable. So delicious, so much to choose from. How would we cope???
Girls were desperate to go to Kids Club and they were booked into Kids club for the special Tea at Jonny Rockets. So really we just lulled away the afternoon, swimming, few drinks and dinner was at 6.

It was the second formal night so the good duds were put on again. All the adults got to sit together for Dinner so that was nice, but Felix was genuinely sad not to see the kids for dinner. His ace was really sad, we felt bad that they were not there. Tea was again magnificent. So we went to pick up the girls by eight and took them to bed. They were tired so they were asleep quickly.
We then we went to the Ever After show. It was ok, it was about all different fairy tales, singing was excellent. We ended up trying to find the other adults but to no avail so had a few late night drinks and went to bed.
