Sunday, Nov. 23 & Monday, Nov. 24
We arrived a 2 hours late to Nepal because our plane got delayed but our airport transfer was still there to collect us and bring us to the hotel. Once we arrived there was a travel agent that we talked with and told him all the things we were interested in. After a little while he had planned out the best way for us to go about doing it since we have limited time here. We basically created our own tour with everything taken care of and wait til you see what we are up to this week!!! We spent the rest of the day/night walking around the city and looking at the shops. We both got some cool stuff! It is a lot colder here, especially coming from 100+ degrees in Africa. We snuggled up under the blankets and had to wake up really early to go meet our guide and take off for the day.
We got on a 7am bus headed for Dokhara where we were supposed to stop along the way and go white water rafting. Unfortunatly since we are driving through the Himalayas there is only 1 road in and 1 road out and there had been an accident earlier that morning blocking the road. About 5 hours later our bus still hadn't moved and the raft tour was long gone. Instead we walked around a bit and looked at the scenery, slept, read and hoped the road would open soon. Eventually it opened and it was going to be another 4-5 hours to Dakhara, where we were arranged to stay the night.
So here we are... no rafting adventures to tell about but we are going to try again once we are on our way back to Kathmandu at the end of the week. Until then... you will just have to wait and see what we are up to. SO EXCITED!!!
