The swamp area was eerily prety in some places.
Cypress knees stick out of the water.
The deer seemed to look forward to being fed by campers.
These hybred domestic ducks were quite unusual.
| Our Lake Charles destination was a stopover on our way to Austin, TX. We spent 2 nights at Sam Houston Jones State Park in Lake Charles. The campground is on the high part of a swamp with a river bordering it to the north. We experienced some exciting thunderstorms and lots of rain the first night, with rain threatening the second day. Lake Charles is a city on the 10 freeway dotted with chemical and oil companies with huge refineries. |
