We left Bullhead City on Sunday, Otober 26. We drove south along the Colorado River to Emerald Cove RV Resort in Earp, California, which is across the river from Parker, Arizona. The good and bad thing is that it is very peaceful there. We went to the Bill Williams wildlife preserve, drove along the dried-up Bill Williams River, saw another ghost town that once housed hundreds of miners and homes but all that is left is their brick foundations and nothing much to take pictures of! That is Swansea, and funds are being raised to restore it to its former appearance. On Saturday, November 1st, we drove east through Arizona to Salome, a real desert town. We were told to bring everything we needed, and it's a good thing we did! We met up with Linda and Gary, and took a few hikes in the desert. We found several abandoned miners' camps and the entrance to a mine, but again, no great Kodak moments, just incredible peace and quiet, and happy hour every afternoon with Linda and Gary. We left them on Saturday, November 8th. We are now in Mesa, Arizona, again. We'll be here for 3 weeks, and we'll send some great pictures of the Superstition wilderness and Tonto National Forest.
