Happy birthday La and Derek.

Yesterday, we went to 3 more ghost towns. Hillboro, Kingston and the BEST of all Lake Valley.

All were very interesting, but Lake Valley is a true abandoned ghost town. 18 miles from anything. Several building still there, and were inhabited up until 1994. The oldest resident to live there the longest was born and died there. The only place he ever went was to Hillsboro, 18 miles away! Can you imagine that. He was 94 when he died.

The town was the biggest silver strike in the world - EVER. The town at one time had 12 saloons, several banks and brothels. I don't mean to give you history lessons, but this stuff just amazes me. There are over 300 mines in the area of the town.

Today, we went to T or C and saw a car show at the veterans home. There were some beauties there. Cars, I mean. Thank you Veterans - past and present -.

After that, we went into a hot mineral spring. It was $5.00 for 2 people for 1/2 hour. What a deal! And, what an experience. They are a hole in the ground where the water comes out about 104 degrees, and you float in it. Good for what ails you.

The sun has shined every day we have been here, that is what we were looking for. It gets cool at night, but warms up quickly.

Hugs and misses.
