Arriving at Toronto's Pearson International - Terminal One at 7:15 pm on Thursday, October 23rd. Enough time in between to grab dinner at the Red Rocket 192 Gourmet Deli. This deli is named for the streetcar line that connects all of Toronto's neighborhoods. This bold concept leads airport travelers on a culinary journey thorough one of North America's greatest cities. Red Rocket's decor features chrome and red elements to convey the art deco feel of the classic Red Rocket streetcars.
We weren't in a hurry after we got through customs, so we could eat, relax and enjoy each others' company. We had a character for a waiter, Mario?, who kept us entertained as he took our orders and served our food. He was there to provide first rate service and he did.
Elise and I got into such a great conversation that we missed the PA announcement that changed the boarding gate to another location. The shops had been closed for an hour and we were still chatting when Bob tracked us down. The guys were watching the hockey game, I think.
Then we boarded our overnight flight AC135 leaving at 10:55 pm. We'll be in the Edmonton International airport waiting with our baggage for a cab at 2:00 am Edmonton time. The cabbie will make the rounds, dropping us off individually with door-to-door services. We'll be in our beds around 3:00 am, God willing.
THANK YOU, GOD, FOR THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SMALL BEGINNINGS. THANK YOU FOR GREAT JOURNEYS FROM FIRST STEPS AND LARGE HARVESTS FROM TINY SEEDS. AMEN.
