***Before you read today's entry, check out yesterday's additional entries and pictures--if you're interested. The kids wrote about their experiences at the mall!***
Hey all! We made it quite a bit further today than we had first planned! That's a good thing because then we can spend a little more time at Mount Rushmore tomorrow! Oh, boy, the driving is getting boring again! We're in South Dakota and it feels a lot like being in Saskatchewan with a couple differences: here there's nothing but corn fields and pig farms! Peeeyouuuu! (How do you spell that)? The only excitement was seeing a speed limit sign for 75 miles/hour! That's 122 km/hr! We can't go that fast anywhere in Canada--not that it matters that much in a motorhome! Opa doesn't believe in going one kilometer/hr faster than 100! I guess that's ok; on these roads, if we went any faster, the motorhome would fall apart!
Mackenzie's Highlights:
I was hoping to be able to tell you that my highlight of the day was watching the Flames game! Unfortunately, I just found out that my dream won’t come true, but we might be able to listen to it. We had a very pleasant discussion today at supper about pheasant, chicken and duck hunting! We really grossed Aimee out! The reason we were having that discussion is because there are lots of hunters in our campground and we saw them skinning their pheasants! Aimee wouldn’t have liked it but I sure had fun watching!
Aimee's Highlights:
Today we had a relaxing day. After yesterday, we needed some down time! We drove from Minneapolis to South Dakota. When we got to our KOA campground we played at their park for five minutes only to discover we were surrounded by walking spikes! Well, that’s what I call them. They are little balls with thorns on them. They look like cactus plants. I had fifteen on one flip flop! Well, today the Calgary Flames are playing the Oilers! Let’s hope they play hard! Tomorrow we are going to Mt. Rushmore! Maybe I could be the next face that is carved into the rock!
