We left Frontier Campground at 9:49 am. We took Hwy 42N to Hwy 35E to I-71 to I-70. We decided on a little detour to Dresden, OH to see the World’s Largest Basket according to the Guiness Book of World Records.
Traveling along Route 60 through Xenia hauling the trailer was a big mistake. This road is miles of stop and go with stores and traffic lights. It is not limited access. A was very irritated by the time we reached Dresden.
After viewing the basket and taking photos, we stopped in one of the shops that specializes in retired Longaberger baskets. We looked at prices on a few of them and decided they were too rich for our blood.
Had lunch at Popeye’s Soda Shop. 1950's era decor with classic cars and poodle skirts. We thought the grilled cheese sandwich on yesterday’s stale and dry bread was a little pricey.
Although T wanted to tour the Longaberger factory, she felt she was pushing her luck with A in his current mood. We decided to hit the road rather than stay but hope to return another time.
We spent the night at Whispering Pines Campground in Washington, PA. It was pleasant and it was quiet but it’s another one of those Pennsylvania campgrounds that seem to have reversed connections and whose layout is not intuitive.
