Daddy arrived in Inch'on, Korea on October 24, 1945 and had to help unload the USS Riverside, the boat he took to Korea. Then for another 4 days, until October 28, he had to help unload the USS Star, another boat in the harbor. He then left Inch'on on November 2. During Daddy's stay, the city was the site of a Japanese POW camp.

After Daddy left Korea, Inch'on was the site of the Battle of Inch'on on September 15, 1950, when United States troops landed to relieve pressure on the Pusan Perimeter and to launch a United Nations offensive northward. The USS Inch'on (MCS-12) was named after the tide-turning battle that ensued.

Presently, Inch'on is a metropolitan city and a major seaport on the west coast of South Korea, near Seoul. Inch'on is regarded as part of the greater Seoul metropolitan area due to its close proximity to the capital, and the fact that the Seoul Metropolitan Subway and the Inch'on Subway systems are linked. Inch'on is, however, a major city in its own right and is a separate jurisdiction from Seoul.
