Day 126, Oct 4, Today’s Plan; Drive to Ontario, OR.
We are up and gone in a timely manner, under low hanging clouds. It rained during the night and some damn cat thought it would be drier on the roof of the cab. The rain did wash the dust off for us. I have avoided washing it for fear the weather would change. I guess it would be okay to wash it now. We follow our route of last night to the Crater Park. We pass the gate and find the lava field extends many miles to the west too. We drive on in and out of showers. We thought we would see more agricultural areas but instead find a lot of sage brush. At Shoshone, we enter a valley that is agricultural based. It’s a pleasant drive. We are following US-20. When we meet I-84, We head NW. We find the scenery boring again, so we stay on the freeway until Boise. The trip is easy going on relatively flat country. The weather is brighter and warm. We motor on to Fruitland, ID. We are early stopping so we try to find a hobby store for Lorna. The camp operator knows of one, so we cross over into Ontario, Oregon to look for it. I drop Lorna off and go find a Mr. Lube. We meet up later and go back to camp.
