Val and Steve's Awesome RV Tour travel blog

The layers of hills in the distance were awesome

The leaves are just starting to change colour

We drove along some lovely roads

Another pretty stretch of road

You could see for miles

A panoramic view

Today we had a late start but spent the morning pottering, well I did as Steve didn't get up until 11am after losing himself last night playing with the fire outside until at least 2.30am!! I was sound asleep by then so I got up early. I managed to book the RV Park near Baltimore for our last 3 nights with GG and then also the hotel near the airport for our last night.

We then decided to drive to Shenandoah National Park and drive along a section of the Skyline Drive. We actually thought we had done some of it until we got there and looked at the map! Steve then remembered that we decided not to do that and the Blue Ridge Parkway as we had a lot of miles to cover. So..a new experience and a chance to use our National Parks Pass for one last time! We would have spent over $500 going to National Parks but we get in free and only spent $80 on the Pass. Great investment.

The drive was beautiful with some gorgeous scenery. The leaves are beginning to turn so the views were even more beautiful. We went along a 40 mile stretch, stopping off here and there and having a picnic. Awesome. I was exhausted so when we got back we had a sleep and then I finished making tea, we watched a film, played Yahtzee and went to bed.
