Larry & Lee Ann's Journey travel blog

Started out with the GPS, satellite radio and the Pressure Pro for...

Man, there is wide open spaces out here!

Highway 50, truly one of the 'loneliest roads in America!'...

The booming town of Austin, NV...

Trading drivers here, I took us into Battle Mountain...

A pretty evening sky as we rolled into town for the night...

A very short update. We traveled 275 miles today. The truck ran just fine, which was a good thing...we traveled Hwy 50, the loneliest road in America until we reached Austin, then turned North on Hwy 305 until we reached Battle Mountain. We had planned to stop there, but it turned out to be a very small town. So we continued up Interstate 80 into Winnemucca, another really small town, and by then we were just too tired to go any further. So we are currently parked in the parking lot of the Winners Casino, in the exact spot we sat two years ago. Ah well, we had a nice dinner & the satellite caught the final episode of America's Got Talent. We didn't actually watch it as the only slide we put out was the bedroom, so maybe tomorrow.

We averaged 10.8 mpg today, which wasn't bad at all considering all the mountain passes we crossed. I seem to have a few spots on my camera lens so will try to work on that before we leave in the morning. We are headed to Klamath Falls first and hope to make it up to Crater Lake. We were in Klamath two years ago on Halloween night, temperature 18 degrees, and the road to Crater was already closed. It seems to be much warmer this trip, so we've got our fingers crossed. Hoping to reach my cousin Tom Potter with a dinner invitation while there also. So that's it for now. Thank you all for your well wishes & prayers for a safe journey. We appreciate that very much. Need all the help we can get!
