Saturday morning we went to a local cafe in Kampsville for breakfast and then took off. We took the River Road beside the Mississippi. We crossed the River at Louisiana, MO, and it was one of those bridges I HATE!!. A long steep approach with just a short guardrail and then a VERY narrow bridge. Of course, we met a BIG semi-truck in the middle. (Believe me - I was praying out loud) But we made it.
We are at a park WAY back in the Boonies at Lake Ozark, MO. There is a mile long, gravel drive way that is all washboard (read that REALLY bumpy) and with hills so steep I wasn't sure the truck could make them. But we have a great site, I've got internet again, and we will sit here till Monday morning.
So Life is Good!!!
We thought we heard our cell phone ringing Saturday night in the middle of the night but didn't wake up to make sure. When we got up Sunday morning, we had a voice mail. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough cell service to retrieve the VM. We needed to go get diesel so we headed to town. The call was from Ron's sister letting us know that his mother had had a slight heart attack and was in the hospital. She is doing well and should be home Tuesday or Wednesday.
We did find diesel for $3.71!!!
