South of Boise, Idaho, just east of Silver City, is the state park named after the Bruneau Sand Dunes. The town of Bruneau is very small, the gas station is closed, and we still had to drive several miles to get to the Bruneau Canyon Overlook.

The weather remained spectacular, daytime temps in the 80's but 25 degrees cooler at night. We had the entire loop to ourselves for 2 days, with satellite TV, phone and internet access. We rode our bicycles on the road, hiked up one of the sand dunes, and just relaxed for 3 days.

Friday, we got in the truck and went to see the river. It was a great 3 days, and a nice stop on our way to Nevada.
