What a wonderful week! We've had good weather, but also our first real signs of fall. One morning we woke to the high 30s. There has been minimal leaf color change, bt it should happen soon. We didn't use the bike much, but we did get gel seats for it, so long rides will be much more comfortable. [We've put 4,000 miles on the bike!]
This has been a "family" week. Sue has 3 cousins, and their spouses, living close to the Lake Bomoseen campground where we stayed. It had been 20 years or more since we had seen any of them. Cousin Pete and his wife Jean drove us all around from south/central Vermont north until we were almost into Canada. We visited the Vermont Country Store in Weston. We have ordered many items from ths store in the past. They also took us to Moss Glen Falls, Ben & Jerry's first major manufactuing facility, Smuggler's Notch [a narrow, winding, steep road road between two mountains], the von Trapp Family Lodge where the original von Trapps are buried, and many other interesting places in the Green Mountains. We also attended the little country church where he is the pastor. We also enjoyed fellowship, food, and memories with Dot, George and their spouses.
Munchkin was still having digestive problems and an eye problem, so we took her to a clinic originally built by Uncle Chuck and his partner but now owned by another vet. Dr. Sheldon was very thorough. Munchkin had an ulcer on her eye, so is getting drops daily. They also found an intestinal parasite from lake/stream water [we probably have or had them also] which called for a medication. A blood test showed some elevated components, so an antibiotic was added to the regiment. She is now doing great.
Tomorrow we move on to New Hampshire and the White Mountain.
