An overnight bus from San Cristobal brought us to Mexico's premier surfing destination, Puerto Escondido - home of the Mexican pipeline, the fastest breaking waves in the world. The waves are huge (up to 12ft - the photos do not do them justice) and it was great to watch the few surfers good enough to take them on.

Other than the beach though there was little to keep us here in what is a fairly dull and unattractive town.
