Ables US/Canada tour 2008 travel blog

Wednesday 9/03/08 Sault St. Marie, Michigan

Last night, the wind picked up and we had a little rain. Up until yesterday, we have had weather around 80 degrees and clear skies. Today it is overcast, windy and 66 degrees. It is expected to be this way for the rest of the week. We are crossing the bridge into Canada today taking our time to Ottawa. Before we left the US we filled up with fuel ($4.279 for diesel). In Sault Saint Marie, Ontario we stopped at the visitors center to exchange money (1.02, up from 0.96 from last week) which makes things cheaper, including fuel, for us. Going through the border was relatively easy. They asked us how much booze we had, if we had any firearms, and how long we were staying. No ID asked for. After stopping at the visitor’s center we stopped at a grocery store and an electronics store, I need a firewire adapter for my laptop to download video from my camcorder. I didn’t find one. We stopped for the night at Sturgeon Falls, Ontario.
