1890 building in Huntington

WE are now in Huntington, Oregon. The campground is on the Snake River. We are in the same campground that we were in two years ago. The weather here turned cold and very windy. Tons of flying bugs here because we are right on the river. We have linked up with Dave and Trish Wood. We met in Yakima and spent one night. Then we drove to Hermiston and spent a couple of days. We came here in Huntington because it is in the direction we are going and it is Labor Day weekend, a very hard time to get a campground. This place is mainly a fish camp for Catfish fishermen.

Today we went exploring. We went to two nearby towns. First was Weiser. We drove every street in this town. We stopped for groceries also. Dave got to show us places he used to make deliveries to when he was a truck driver. Then we drove into Huntington proper. It is a railroad town. It is tiny.

We are camped right on the Snake River and the campground is pretty good, and cheap too. With Passport America we are only paying $13 a night. Tomorrow we will do more exploring and then on Tuesday we got another city to check out. Dave and Trish are fun to travel with and we enjoy their company. We met them on the forum and then met them at the Beer and Beans Rally.
