Old Rhodes is really cool. It's all medieval and castley. Alex and I went to a cafe after getting of the ship and had a frappe and cappuccino and shared a crepe. We arrived at the cafe when they were still setting up, so when I asked for a crepe she said ten more minutes. When she came back to take our order, she said "what kind of crepe you want?" And I said, "What kind do you have?" And she said "Banana chocolate." So, we got banana chocolate, but I wonder why she even asked what kind we wanted!! Then we decided to go to the Acropolis and took a bus for about an hour to get there. I wanted to go so that I could ride the donkey up, but the guide book said that the donkey renters do not tell you that the poor animals can only comfortably hold about 112 lbs. That is not me. So, I felt bad and we walked up instead. Afterwards, we went down to a little beach, but I had gotten very badly burned on my shoulders and stayed covered while Alex went swimming. I wanted to go swimming :-( It looked very nice. We then took the bus back to Rhodes Town and had dinner. I had mousaka and ALex had souvlaki. We nearly missed the ship. They are serious when they say be on board at 5:45 they DO NOT mean 5:50! Rhodes was Alex's favorite day of our trip and it was my favorite place, too. We will have to go back.
