In need of a vacation from our travels, we arrived at the British Virgin Islands for a one-week sail with family and friends. It was the farewell sail for our usual captain and first mate, Steve and Jen, who are retiring to land-lover jobs this fall. The twelve of us required two boats; so in addition to "Add to Life," we chartered "Moonshine" and met our new captain and first mate, John and Lynn. They quickly fit in with the laughter and chaos that this crew can muster. With the exception of one overcast day, we sailed (actually motored, due to lack of wind) in beautiful sunny weather. We bounced around from island to island enjoying beach bars, diving, snorkeling, volleyball, relaxing, and sharing in some interesting conversations. One of the highlights was an afternoon of watching whales frolicking nearby (very nearby) our boats - an amazing sight. At the end of the week, we decided (because we could) to extend for two more days and enjoy more sedate conversations with Steve, Jen, John, and Lynn.
