Stopping for a break on the way to the Ferry

Taking a walk to a pond in the meadow

To sum up our 24 days in Newfoundland the word that comes to mind is “unspoiled”. The natural beauty is almost as Mother Nature made it. With low population and no real crowds of tourists, very little has been changed or marred by man. The whole island is made up of fresh water ponds almost everywhere you look. The map is literally dotted with them. And all of Newfoundland’s waterways are strikingly clean. The lack of industry that is driving the youth to look for jobs elsewhere in Canada may very well be the reason that Newfoundland is still so beautiful!

We drove the rest of the way to the ferry today. The ferry was scheduled to leave NL shortly before midnight. We had plenty of time and made a stop at a nearby pond to stretch our legs.
