12 Great days in Kamloops:
We visited relatives & friends. Had a great time.
Spent some great days sitting out on my brothers lawn enjoying a cool beer. Gets hot in Kamloops so you have to replace lost liquid. I think the hottest temperature was 37 or 39 celcius. Too hot.
-
Went out a few times with family and friends to eat. Enjoyed some great Chinese food. (in honour of the Olympics.)
-
Lots of golfing. (Why doesn't my golf improve!)
Bought a new hybrid 3. Have to see how that works.
-
We played cards in the evenings, 'sticks'. Fun game.
Looked at some great real estate property. Found a place we liked on a brand new golf course! ( http://www.tobianogolf.com/ ) Had quite a tour and presentation, however the listed price was well beyond our budget. Guess we will stay in Red Deer a bit longer.

A highlight: There was a free concert in the park for B.C. 150th Anniversary. It was sponsered by the Mining Association. The group was the 'Men of The Deeps'. They were superb. If you don't know their music you should try it. They have been on concert with Rita McNeil and Ann Murray and others. They are all ex. or serving miners.

Our son Alan arrived on Friday. He is on his annual motorcycle trip. His friend Marco arrived on Saturday, and they both departed for portland on the Sunday. Sure enjoyed his company again. This is the second time we have had Alan join us on this great northern adventure. If you remember he met up with us in Whitehorse.
-
Sure enjoy having 'skype'. Don't know what I would do with out it.
-
On the road to Valemount.
A great road this highway 5. Lots of traffic though when we first left Kamloops. Stopped along the way to take pictures of the scenery.
-
Arrived in Valemount. Found a golf course with a campground. So we decided to go with it.
-
Bonus, found an internet connection!
-
After we set up, we headed into town and found the Legion branch #266. Margret scored a couple of pins & a ribbon to add to her collection.
-
On the way back we saw a 'Swiss Bakery'. The owner was Swiss, and his staff was Russian. Bought a strudel, mmmm...(no cinnamon buns today)
Watched some Olympics.
-
Missed having Harry & Eva along with us. We were always chatting on the handheld radios' pointing out different things.
-
Another idylic day of travel.
-
see you tomorrow.
