326 Miles or 14 hours .. Which ever it is the boys will be home on Thursday afternoon. Don’t call me - I’ll be busy and it won’t be washing the trike! So, I’ve made the chocolate pudding, the pitcher of iced tea and planned one of Frank’s favorite dinners, and, his favorite chair is waiting for him in the man cave a/k/a garage!
Their ride today was about 400 miles and uneventful. Well, almost. After Tommy and Frank had passed an exit Norwood radioed ahead that he wanted to stop at the Bass Pro Shop in Kodak, Tennessee. Why in the world would you need to stop in Tennessee when there is a Bass Pro Shop right here in Myrtle Beach? He couldn’t get lost - I-40 takes you to Maggie Valley. He showed up several hours after Frank and Tommy. He even brought dinner! And didn’t buy the first thing at Bass Pro!
Norwood and Frank will head to the beach. Tommy will stay behind and wait for Lowe’s to deliver a new refrigerator to their house in Maggie Valley. Dee will be there on Friday. I’m not sure what Tommy will do without his roomies and no cell service. I’m sure there is a honey dew list on the counter! Geez, Dee, he’s been on the road for 3 weeks - he needs to rest!
Over the next several weeks I’ll be working on putting everyone’s photos together and then I’ll put them on SnapFish. Everyone will get the link so you can see the scenic photos that never made it to My Trip Journal.
Writing this journal every night convinced me that I won’t retire and become a writer! Believe it or not - this is hard work!!
Thanks for your interest in the Old Men on Trikes. Thanks for the phone calls to check on me, thanks for the dinners and movie, and, most of all thanks girls, for a great weekend at the beach. I haven’t laughed that much in ages!
Wish Frank and Norwood a safe and clear ride back to Myrtle Beach.
That’s all the news from the road tonight.
