The day started off grey but dry. However, as we proceeded east, the rain got worse and worse.
We made a brief stop at the Nova Scotia Welcome Centre and a longer one in Springhill to tour the Anne Murray Centre. It is full of Anne's memorabilia: Juno and Grammy awards, platinimum and gold records, gowns worn for special appearances, newspaper articles, video clips, etc. Her first contract for "Singalong Jubilee" was displayed. She was paid $91 for performances where she sang a solo! Family and childhood items are also on display. This was a very worthwhile stop. We bought her newest CD "Duets" and listened to it twice while driving today.
Our only other stop was for supper at "Alice's Restaurant" in Wycocomagh just south of Baddeck. It was good.
At North Sydney, we thought we'd spend the night in the ferry lineup but were told we couldn't come in until the earlier ferries left, about 2:30 a.m. So, we went back up the road to the Arm of Gold campground for the night. We'll have to be up early, though, to get back to the ferry by 6:30 a.m.
