Leaving Palmer behind in the rain

Along the Matanuska River

Low lying clouds

Wait...what...in the distance...? Can it be?

Woohoo! It is!

Slow going...a construction zone

We stopped at the Matanuska Glacier State Recreation Area

The Matanuska Glacier

Pretty

We took a lunch break near colorful Sheep Mountain

It's turning into a gorgeous day

We decided to stop west of Glenallen for the night

Tolsona Wilderness Campground

Our site is right next to the Tolsona Creek

With all the rain, it was a good day to travel anyway. We did run into a couple of construction zones, but as they weren't blasting today, we weren't held up for very long. The further east we traveled, we were more and more blessed with blue skies. Tolsona was a great place to stop for the night, and after a brief storm blowing through (it even hailed!) it cleared once again. We had a nice fire, over which Rog did some pork chops for dinner.
