A little rain must fall every now and then ....
The boys had a 435 mile ride from Amarillo, Texas to Sallisaw, Oklahoma today. They did need to get out the rain gear. Light steady rain but the temperature was just right.
While in Amarillo they spoke to some fellow Goldwing riders from Pennsylvania. They were traveling with friends who had a 2008 Harley. Unfortunately their bike was stolen out of the hotel parking lot. Our guys have been lucky. Every hotel they have stayed in they have been allowed to park their trikes at the front under the canopy. Their trikes lock at the fork and can’t be rolled away. That’s a good thing.
Just as I thought - Tommy had to see if he could win him some gas money. The last time I talked to Frank Tommy hadn’t come back to the room. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow for that report.
Tuesday’s ride is approximately 310 miles to Memphis, Tennessee. Unfortunately the weather forecast is 80% chance of rain starting in Sallisaw and all the way to Memphis. This will make the ride longer and dampen their plans for sightseeing. Did someone say Elvis was in town? Frank said they really can’t complain. They have had wonderful weather since they left home (except for the heat!).
I’ve attached some photos that Sharon forwarded to me this evening. I just love the prairie dogs! I’m sure Kim would love to have some of that hay. (Sorry Kim, it didn’t fit in the trailer.)
That’s all the news from the road. (They are turning into some boring riders. Never fear - we’ll all hear stories for months to come.) Only 1100 miles to home, sweet, home.
Wish them a safe ride (unfortunately in the rain).
Until tomorrow .....
