What a beautiful drive from Columbia to San Jose via Highway 120. The drive takes you through a major agricultural area with miles and miles of farm land. We just had to stop at the roadside stands for fresh corn, strawberries, tomatoes, and almonds. After Highway 120, we hit the freeways in the bay area and the fun was over. At least driving in San Antonio has prepared us for the California freeways. We arrived unscathed at the Trailer Tel RV Park in San Jose. This place used to be a mobile home park and was converted. It is very nice with a beautiful pool and well-maintained grounds. This will be our home for the next two months. We will babysit Gavin for a week while Val and Eric are gone on a cruise. There is a lot to do here and we will have time to explore the area.
An out of state fishing license for Steve cost $107. Ouch! There are a lot of lakes to fish in, but you can’t eat the fish because of the mercury. It is basically catch and release. Oh, well, I don’t understand the ‘fun’ part of this fishing business, but if Steve enjoys it, that’s ok.
