(Friday August 1)
It was time to bid farewell to Whitehorse and move on toward the south. I hardly situated myself in the observation seat when I spied a Red Fox running along the highway. I knew all about most of the route today, because we had traveled the same road coming north. I may be old, but I’m savvy. Then the old folks threw a curve at me and turned onto the Cassiar Highway. This began a new adventure for all of us.I saw Three Prong Horn? Sheep climbing up the hillside just next to the road as we drove along.
We stopped at Jade City for a while and the old folks brought out a bag of stuff before we continued on our way. The sun was shining some of the time and made the scenery very picturesque. Now we are stopped at Dease River Crossing RV Park.It is a very nice location on a lake, which we are camped at the edge of. There is no electricity or water at the site, but I’m not worried, because my food is ready without either!
They tell me we are going to a place called Hyder, AK tomorrow so they can watch some ole bears catch fish. Nope, you guessed it; I can’t go near the viewing area and will stay at camp or in the truck.
