|Another trekking day, this one much longer than the last. I slept really well last night; must've been more tired than I thought.
Today we'll be hiking for 8 hours, summiting over 14,300 ft! The weather is chillier up here because of the altitude but again, the views are well worth it. On our hikes we see many llamas and alpacas and more Andean children, who scale rocks and skip up paths with no problem. We on the other hand, are not used to the altitude and the steep walks, and often pause to catch our breath.
Summitting the peak today was a great accomplishment in itself. I'm so pleased with what I've been able to do and am glad for having embarked on such an adventure. This is definitely something I will carry with me for a long time.
Tomorrow, we have another 3 hours worth of hiking, but I'm not too worried about that because I'm still coming off the high of having achieved a great thing today.
