Downhill about to be appreciated

This was a long day at 170km with hills and, later in the day, headwinds making it seem longer. Bud's cue sheets had previously warned us to carry lots of food and water in the Canadian Shield due to the lack of services. The first 80km was in Lake Superior Provincial Park with lots of hills, the associated spectacular views, and unpronounceable place names.

Descending to Lake Superior brought us to sand beaches. Climbing the hills brought us great views. Gas stations and restaurants were often 20 to 40km apart with the first general store at the 80km mark at the Montreal River.

Darlene and I helped each other the last 90km and we got to camp in time for dinner. Both my legs and butt will appreciate tomorrow's rest day.
