JULY 20th

WE left Twillingate at 9am. stopping off Gander at the North Atlantic Aviation

Museum We learned of the roll Gander played following the 9/11,2001 terrorist attack on the U.S.All planes to land in the eastern states landed in Gander and the citicens of Gander came to the plate and took care of those in need. Many letters of appreciation are on record at the Museum. The museum had a number of reconstructed planes, a lot of history there.

Once we were done there we were back on the road again, arriving at our campsite at 1.45pm. From there we drove to Tera Nova National Park. This is the most eastern National Park in Canada.Very nice park, there campgrounds have water and power so we are considering staying there on our return from St. John's While driving through the park we noticed the unserviced sites were 99% vacant, in B.C. these parks are hard to get into without reservations in the summer months.

WE drove to Blue Hill Pond lookout in the park a fantastic view of of Blue Hill Pond "pond" being a huge lake, also stopped at another lookout overlooking Gambo another terrific view.

WE are leaving here tomorrow for St. John's
