Smallest of the ruins sites I visited. It has an excellent museum before going to the ruins. At one time there were 20,000 inhabitants in the area. In addition to the ruins, there is a natural pool which is very clear and open to the visiting public swimming in it. This site is also known for the ruin (picture 8) which makes a spectacular view of the spring and fall solace sun which shines directly in the middle of window, forming a sun burst.

Progres has a very nice beach area with more police patrolling the area than I have ever seen. The sky was very threatening so I did not take any pictures as I needed a hotel quick. Before the night was over, a torrential rain storm had come through and the streets were full of water. This is quite a clean city and quite a few Americans live here.
