We got the bus to Yanghsuo, just south of Guilin. What should be an hours worth of journey, with their driving, was more like 2. Driving closer and close to the beautiful scenery, Yangshuo is hard not to like. All the travellers and bars and shops make it a lively place. Despite the rain we had a look around, lots of market stalls, and souvenir shops. At night the town livens up so much, packed with people. While meeting other people a highlight was the terrible chinese kareoke which played such classics as...."Old Macdonald Had A Farm" and "She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain"

Waking up to the sound of rain it had stopped by the time we were outside. We caught a bus to a near by town of north of Yangshuo called Xingping. That bus was an experience in its self. Packed to the gills, the eratic driving seems to be normal in china. I also think there are two rules on the road. Green light means go and Red light means go!
We went for a bamboo boat river cruise through the amazing scenery on he Li River. We took (too many) photos but I don't think it compares to seeing it in real life. The 20 Yuan note features the place on the Li River that we went.
In the evening we had possible the second best meal, great dumpling and good food. After we bumped into a acouple Aussie that we had met the night before and we went to a couple of places. I can't reiterate how srange Chinese bars are - I have a video to prove it!
Some dead, some lively, copying the westerners. The great thing is the dice game that everybody plays and we were taught. It is really addictive

Our last full day in Yangshuo hampered by tain we couldn't do much. We venture out anyway to a local park. We also went through a farmers market, which can only be described as something that resembled an abbatoire. Not Nice. Biding our time til the evening we had another great meal and then went and played the dice game with a lovely chinese couple.

Today we cought the bus back to Guilin and e had kind of done everything already soo we were more just waiting to catch the train to Kunming the next day
Worst meal ever: Somehow we managed to pick out the wrong place and I ended up wih a microwavable dish drown in its sauce and a mushy pea milkshake. It was so disgusting it made me feel sick. Back at the hostel we talked to chinese , every time you speak to Chinese people you learn so much more than a guide book could tell you
Here are some photos and a sneak peek of Kunming:
