I woke up at 7am again today but mum managed to lie in a bit longer, well until the girls decided to use the saucepans as drums that is!! We finished packing this morning and then had brunch before heading to the botanical gardens for a walk before saying goodbye to Jennie and the girls…
At the airport Rhiannon was sad as she didn’t want us to leave so she wouldn’t say goodbye. Mum cried as well which brought a tear to Jennie’s eye and mine as well! We had had a great week though!
Our flight was on time today which was good. We were busy waiting for our luggage when Anna appeared. Apparently they had been waiting for us by the gate but we didn’t see them when we came through so whether they were at a different gate I don’t know. Den apparently even went and looked on the plane to make sure we hadn’t been left onboard – he was highly embarrassed when he caught up with us as he couldn’t believe he had actually gone and looked for us there! Was really funny!
The journey home was quite amusing as well as Den started to tell us about making ourselves at home etc… This is a bit of standing joke as last time I was here Anna warned me on the way home that he would do this and he did exactly the same this time. I had warned mum so we just started laughing and then Anna realized what we were laughing at and joined in! I think this set the tone for the rest of the week really!
We had a fabulous dinner of roast beef followed by rhubarb crumble. None of us could quite believe that we ate all that was on the table as it was a lot of food! Oh well…
We chatted for a while and then it was time to catch up with Laura online as she was in England for her birthday. She had invited the rest of the crowd over for lunch and arranged with Anna that I would be able to talk to them all on the webcam which was great. So I got to catch up with Laura, Sarah, Lara, Helen A, Helen, S, Myra and Geoff – was lovely to see everyone!!!
