Today started unexpectedly early. At 4:00 a.m. I awoke to the sound of a mosquitoe. As hard as I could, I could not go to sleep woth it buzzing in my ear. I got up and turned on lights, which woke up Kelsi, well before we knew it, all the gitls were awake by 5:15 a.m. We would kill one and find out there was another then another and so on. Finally, at 6:00 a.m. we decided to stay up (a major accomplishment for the girls.) We were on the road by 7:00 and the first several miles were good, no big mountains and no steep climbs. At 11:00 a.m; we arrived at Liard Hot Springs, which we missed on the way up and the girls really wanted to go to it. We stayed about an hour, the water was nice and hot. The only problem eas the water had a sulfur smell to it and so when we got out, we smelled like sulfur. We were really looking forward to showers at the end of our day. After Liard, was the drive through the Rockies. I thought we would ever get to Ft. Nelson. I was so tired from getting very little sleep and the stressful driving. When we finally got to Ft. Nelson and checked into the rv park, we went to take those much needed showers only to find out the cost was $6.00 per shower. Needless to say, we didn't pay the $6.00. I guess we would just have to be smelly for one more day.

This morning we woke up at 5:00 due to mosquitoes. They were everywhere and we weren't sure where they were coming from. We left at 7:00 and headed for the mountains. We got to Liard Hot Springs. It is a place like a river where hot water comes out of the earth from deep inside the earth. I liked it except it smelled like rotten eggs. We left and not far down the road we saw a daddy bison and a young calve. Further up the road we saw two different herds of bison. About an hour later we saw mountain goats on the road several times. When we got to the rv par we were going to take showers then I saw a sign that read $6.00. We didn't take showers. Over dinner we talked about fruit. weird isn't it. I washed the dishes and Kelsi dried while Lexi vacuumed. It was a long day but it was fun to see wildlife again.

We woke up early this morning because mosquitoes were everywhere. I helped kill them too. We went to the hot springs and it smelled terrible we could hardly stand it, but we went in anyway. We saw bison, mountain goats and my gradpa and sister saw a black bear run across the road. When we got to the rv park we went to take showers and found out the showers were six dollars. We didn't take showers my grandpa said it was like highway robbery. I guess we are going to smell like rotten eggs for one more day. My sister put diotirent all over her body so she wouldn't smell.
