We left Greece today on a rainy, warm morning. We woke up to a downpour and pulled out in the same. While packing our final items, the rain did slow down a bit. We left at 8:45 which is pretty good considering we wanted to be gone by nine. We met the Melita's down the street as they wished us goodbye and good luck. Amy's great brownies, which she handed us, hardly made it to 390 before being opened. We were on our way!
It rained on and off along the way, with the heaviest being between Buffalo and Erie (Annie wouldn't remember this because she'd been sleeping since Leroy.) Not so bad though and traffic was light. We stopped off for gas (whoa I guess its not going to be much cheaper!) and lunch just before Cleveland. We made it the rest of the way with just one more stop at the Michigan Welcome Center and 10 episodes of Full House.
It took us a bit longer than expected. About nine hours to the Detroit KOA in Ypsilanti. We were expecting eight, and the GPS said six. But we can only drive about 60-65 and the gas stop took longer than expected. We'll perfect the stopping and kid breaks along the way (might even leave a few).
Next stop is South Haven, Michigan. Close-by, but with a special surprise for the kids. We'll need to stop by an outlet mall to get Annie a purse because god-forbid she only brought one!
