Leah's Chinese Adventure 2008 travel blog

Today is pretty much a travel day, we're going to head back to Guilin by bus, pick up our stuff from storage at the train station and then we will head on an overnight train for 13 hours to Shenzen, which is our last stop in China.

The plan was for us to spend the morning in the village, prior to walking for about half an hour to a local bus, which was waiting to take us to our private bus which would take us to Guilin railway station. Yet, the local bus was delayed, so we didn't head off from the village until about 2pm. It was lovely to relax and take in the scenary of the mountains around us and enjoy the calm of the countryside before heading to a bustling city once again.

A few of us had to take a private car for the first part of the trip as the local bus was full, and we then had to wait for our private bus which arrived at about 3ish. We arrived in Guilin at about 5pm, and we had free time until 8pm, where we had to meet back at the railway station for our train.

We occupied our time by getting some Maccas (we are all well and truly over Chinese food! I think that it will be months before we eat anymore of it at home!) and having a bit of a browse of the Guilin main walking street. It is a very stylish area, and extremely busy. Skye and I even saw a dwarf singing duo on the corner of one street!

After a bit we headed back to the train station and our train left at about 9:50pm. This train trip was very quiet compared to others! Lights were out by about 11pm, and we were on our way to our final China destination.
