Back in the good old US. Distances in miles and speed limits in mph. Another bad day of driving. Not only were the roads bad but it rained all day. We could not see what was around us since it was raining so hard and clouds were around the mountains. We are in Smith's Green Acre RV Park just north of town. After talking with the registration person, we decided to head towards Valdez rather than Fairbanks. She said the counter clockwise route will give us a better look at the mountains and the views. Since we have not made any reservations yet we can easily change our direction. The animal count for today was low. We did see a moose along the road but by the time we got close it was in the woods and we could not get a picture. We also saw several arctic swans in the ponds as we were driving by.
