We left the house at 7:30am and headed up the 5 freeway to Manteca, California. We arrived at 1:00pm. The total trip was 307 miles. The new truck did a great job towing over the Grapevine. We averaged 9.5 mpg. Much better then the old blue Dodge we had. We are now staying the night at Thousand Trail's Turtle Beach Fish Camp. The campgrounds are really nice. We are camped along the San Joaquin river. The campsites are large and there are plenty of trees. It is warm and breezy out. The skies are filled with smoke from the fires engulfing Northern California.

We have set up camp and had our lunch so now it is time for a nap. We will be pulling out of here at 6:00am tomorrow to try and beat the Stockton traffic. I will write more tomorrow night.
