Tuesday, June 17...Victorian Acres Resort---Nebraska City, NE

We left Odessa this morning and went to Countrywide RV in Grain Valley, MO. We had a 9 AM appointment to have our microwave & converter changed. We found out just before leaving home that they weren't working. We don't know what happened to them. One of the owners, Butch, of Countrywide worked with us to get the insurance coverage we had purchased soon after buying our Wildwood 5th-wheel. He made sure the items were instock when we came for repairs, so we wouldn't be waiting for them to be delivered. Joe could have installed these items....but the insurance wouldn't have covered them.

We were out of there and driving down the road by 11 AM. We would have been out sooner but Butch had to call and give info to the insurance and they had to get info & have papers faxed. What would it have been like if it had been something major? We found out that if we had gone to a GOOD SAM dealer....it might have gone more smoothly. At least that's what the paperwork says :-/

We have driven through KC before and find it very confusing. I know...It doesn't take too much to get us confused :-) But we were very glad to make our way to I-29 and head north. North West Missouri was a contrast in landscapes. On the left side of the road it was very flat...and on the right there were rolling hills and bluffs. Both were very pretty, both had very green fields. Soon after crossing the Iowa border we started seeing water in the fields. Then whole fields of water. The Missouri River had flooded large areas of farm land.

I called ahead to the campground we had planned to go to. It was a marina on the Missouri River. They had been flooded and didn't plan to reopen until tomorrow. The lady at the marina told us about another RV park in Nebraska City....in fact, she was staying there due to being flooded out of her job at the marina. We arrived at Victorian Acres RV park about 2:30 PM. It is a very nice place. They have an Air Stream rally going on now and we were lucky to get a site. We are only staying two nights, this RV Park is higher than the range we have planned for our budget. I think we'll stay at 'Walmart Manor' one night before going to our next site near Kearney, NE.
