On May 29, 2008, 6 groups of World Expeditions trekkers enjoyed the special privilrege to converge on Thyangboche, Nepal thanks to the Rimpoche of Thyangboche Monastery. They were there to celebrate the 55th anniversary of a New Zealander and a Sherpa to summit the world's highest peak. They were there to toast the late Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay for their achievement 55 years ago - to summit the world's highest mountain, Sagarmatha, Chomolongma - Everest.
It all began on May 23 in Kathmandu.
