Mediterranean Sabbatical travel blog

I've always heard about the path less taken in life. I think...

The Bay of Naples behind us from Capri.

Now you can rent cars, boats, and even horses, but do you...

The availability of guidebooks in any language should tip you off, there...

Ok, yes not everything exceeds ones every expectation. We were fairly warned of Capris tourist trap qualities, but ignored the cynicism and dressed to the nines (as far as backpacking clothes go) and via hydrofoil we went. While yes the towns of Capri and Anacapri are cute, the hoardes of tourists and lack of significance left us with a pleasant day, but one we could have spent in Sorrento just the same, without the cattle herding feel.

The Blue Grotto was also closed due to choppy seas, but we did find a pleasant cafe above the famous site to enjoy butterscotch gelato and strawberries...ymmm..
