After two 10 mile sections of paved roads and 40 miles of unpaved road (or 2 hrs. driving), we arrived in the quaint town of Atlin. Atlin is situated on Atlin Lake, the largest natural fresh water lake in BC, 85 miles long and 2 to 5 miles wide. Atlin is the most northwesterly town in BC, 106 miles southeast of Whitehorse and has a population of 400. It was once a gold rush town in 1899.

We walked around town looking at historic buildings, the Anglican Church built in 1901, and a tour thru the small museum plus equipment relics of the past outside. The snowplow got our particular attention.
