At last we arrived in England after @ 32 hours in the air and in various departure lounges!
We touched down at Heathrow airport in London a little late due to George Bushes visit to Europe (so I heard). We picked up our vehicle for the trip, a Peugeot bus with all the bells and whistles but left hand drive (a little daunting having to drive in London on the wrong side of the car).
Driving up to my (Andys) Parents in Lincolnshire we stopped at a "Service Station" where you can buy all sorts of fatty food while travelling on the the motorway system. Ned ate an enormous fried egg and bacon and sausage roll but Rosie and I couldn't manage a thing after all that airline food!
We all arrived Safely in Bourne to meet the grandparents and bobby the poodle and were all very exited and relieved.
This Sunday there was a vintage car and motorbike rally in town so we went for a quick walk and took some pictures (my favourite was a 1955 Maseratti)The town is significant in the mototring world because Raymond Mays, who made the famous ERA and BRM racing cars had his factory in Bourne and is considered as the founder of formula one racing.
I'll post a couple of of pictures in the next couple of days.
I'd better sign off as I'm falling asleep at the keyboard.
