Thanks for visiting our trip journal. The weatherman got his revenge. We left Missoula MT in snow, rain, and wind. Not a very enjoyable drive. It did not clear up until we got into Washington State. Had to make some emergency repairs, as Nancy’s windshield wiper stopped working. Turned out to be a loose wiper arm nut. I did not have the exact size wrench so we used the universal tool made by Crescent.
We arrived in Soap Lake WA where the weather was perfect. Not much here in the way of stores. so on the 12th we visited Wal-Mart, AutoZone, Ace Hardware and Napa to get the parts we needed to fix the wiper blades.
The Alaska Caravan will originate from Soap Lake and there are 4 units of 22 here now. The rest should be arriving over the weekend. We will be heading out to Alaska on the 19th.
Soap Lake RV Resort is at the north end of Soap Lake. The lake is famous for its healing waters. In fact it is 1 of 2 lakes that have these mineral and fountain of youth elements. Very few, if any, medicinal waters exist that contain such a variety of healing minerals. Soap Lake is what is known as a soft mineral lake because its most abundant mineral is what homemakers know as washing soda rather than the calcium salts, which is the main mineral in hard mineral water.
Another of many unique qualities is that it is meromitctic, that is the water is stratified into layers that do not mix with each other. The bottom layer, being the most saturated with the healing minerals, is combined perfectly by Mother Nature. A true “Fountain of Youth” formula.
I did not believe it, so I went for a swim yesterday and would you believe I came out of the water looking like a 29 year old again. No gray hair, No wrinkles, No Pot Belly and my waist size was a 28. I could hardly keep my pants up. I guess on the next trip to Wal-Mart I will need to buy some new duds. Nancy did not need to go for a swim as she looks 28 already.
Thanks for riding with us
