We haven't put any entries in the journal recently because we aren't traveling much. With the cost of diesel, we are planning our trips carefully as most people are. We're sticking pretty close to home now, and probably will with the trailer and truck for a while. If we have to go somewhere far, we'll probably just drive the car.
Anyway this weekend we went to Jordan Lake and road our boat around the lake. I practiced my driving a little with it. It's going to take me a while to get up to speed and feel comfortable driving a boat again. Every one is different. This one is easy to drive, and responsive to the throttle. It rides wonderful and smooth. Yesterday we didn't go to the lake because there's a forrest fire and the air quality was a code red, as it is today, but it was so smokey you couldn't see anything. Today is much better, and tomorrow we should be back in the normal range. So we stayed in yesterday and waited it out. We'll go back tomorrow.
Our ride was great. We went around the lake and tried to find the dam, but we didn't have a map, so we didn't find the dam. Tomorrow, we'll try again. It was a great ride, and the breeze felt good. The water is so warm you don't feel any shock when you walk into it. I'll put in some pictures of our lake. We are so fortunate to have such a beautiful lake only 17 miles from the house. The only problem with this lake is it's not real deep and it gets choppy easily. When there's less people during the week, the water is perfect. Sure is warm when you get in it.
